Are you ready to hire movers but are unsure of what items they can’t haul away? We have compiled a list of categories with some common household items that our movers can’t move for safety reasons.
Flammable/Explosive:
- Gasoline and bbq gas
- Nail polish remover and Nail polish
- Charcoal
- Aerosol cans (deodorants, insect sprays, and other beauty products)
- Matches and lighters
Other hazardous chemicals:
- Corrosive products
- Bleach
- Ammonia
- Strong acids
- Poisons
Illegal items:
Any item that is considered illegal where the move is going to be performed. It includes the areas of the pick-up and the drop-off location.
Pets or live animals- but there is an exception:
Although we love furry friends, we can’t transport them without your supervision. The only way for us to transport your pet is if you choose the “Ride Along” option and bring your pet along with you. The best way to request this service is by messaging us while you are booking the move and we will do our best to accommodate it.
PS: We can help you bring anything from a small fish to a dog!
Plants- allowed but not recommended:
Although there is no restriction to move plants across Canada, we don’t recommend including them in a moving truck. They are fragile and can easily get damaged with manipulation, especially if the move is long. Even though we can load them into the vehicle with the rest of your belongings, we strongly recommend you bring them separately when the big items are out of the way.
How to easily identify flammable, explosive, or corrosive materials?
The quickest way to identify items that are not allowed inside the truck is to check the labeling and warnings on the products:
