1. Book Your Movers in Advance

2. Pick the Best Time

If you have the opportunity to schedule your move for the morning, do it. The mornings are arguably the coolest times during the summer which makes it the perfect time to move. If you can’t book your move for the morning, try booking it in the evening after the sun has gone down and things start to cool off.

3. Move on a Weekday (one of the best tips)

People tend to move on the same days. In Quebec, so many people move on July 1st that it has become an unofficial holiday: Moving Day. While it may be convenient to move the day your lease ends, or on a weekend or holiday, try to schedule your move for a weekday instead. Weekdays tend to be less busy so you’re more likely to get the time slot you want as well as more movers. It’s also usually cheaper as moving companies jack up the prices on busy moving days.

4. Avoid Overheating

This one seems simple but heatstroke can be very dangerous. It’s important to stay hydrated throughout the day. Offer your movers some water and be considerate when they need to take breaks. Your safety and the safety of your movers is the most important thing.
