For the most part, in Montreal, moving companies don’t offer insurance to their customers. But before you start worrying, give a call to your landlord or home liability insurance. Why? In about 90% of the cases, your renters’ property insurance or your own will cover belongings for damages during a move.
Does MoveMate offer insurance?
We do not offer insurance for our services. Although our Mates are trained and qualified movers, we noticed that most of our clients already have home liability insurance, whether they are renters or homeowners. That’s why we decided to not add this option, to give you excellent service while maintaining competitive prices.
Where can I get home liability insurance?
If you don’t currently have any coverage, there are many places you can go to request one. Here are some ideas to get you started: contact your bank, Intact Insurance, and La Capitale.
What safety precautions does MoveMate take during a move?
First, we make sure our Mates (movers) are all trained and qualified before they perform any service. Paul, our Head of Mate Acquisition, goes through a rigorous process to ensure the Mates meet all our criteria and determine if they are a great fit for our company.
